I'm a little late to the conversation, but my roommates and I use a $20 TP-LINK with DD-WRT as an AP because it has better wireless than my $100 Netgear router. The routing part of the TP-LINK isn't nearly as good (chokes on more than 10 devices), but the Netgear for routing with the TP-LINK for an AP is a perfect combo. Alec
