wow, that thread is rather active my 2 cents: one samsung 850 evo 500gb here in my main desktop, with btrfs on it, and I decided to run "fstrim -va" every few days manually ... kind of when I am at keeping things in shape or so ... along "btrfs scrub" on fridays ... I also have "written" / cut-and-pasted systemd-timers for that but I disabled them for now. "discard" in fstab was documented to slow down things and who wants *that* ?? ;)
