Just for giggles, make sure nothing is muted and that the levels are at reasonable levels in order to hear sounds. Lately here, the PCM setting seems to go to 10 or so for some reason which is about muted. I can play something with smplayer one time and have to adjust the PCM setting, a hour later, it is down to 10 or so again and I have to set it back to 90 or 100. I have yet to figure out why it is doing that but it is annoying to no end. If you are hitting the same problem, maybe we can figure out what is changing that setting. If that's not it.
