Walter's problems triggered me to check what profile was selected on my
own rig:
# eselect profile show
Current /etc/portage/make.profile symlink:
default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop
# eselect profile list
!!! Error: Failed to get a list of valid profiles
exiting
#
Anybody having an explanation? What to check?
Any pointers welcome ...
