Yes, but at first you were trying to launch a Wayland session. Did you also try to launch an X11 session without an xorg.conf file? Any changes you need to include non-default settings should be added under /etc/ X11/xorg.conf.d/. https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Xorg/Guide#Configuration You should at least try to launch a X11 session using a console and see what is printed out on the CLI after you exit (or if it crashes). ~ $ exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session startplasma-x11
