Well, I wouldn't mind finding the file that has the temps.  I have a
little simple script that uses cat, grep etc to get temps and fan info.
I use it if I have to compile something while in console, in other
words, the GUI isn't working but I want to see if everything is running
at a good temp.  It's rare but I try to have that just in case.  Thing
is, when there is no GUI running, the GPU won't have much of a load on
it so it should run cool.  Still, I wouldn't mind knowing where that
files is, just to be able to see all the temps, fans and such even with
no GUI.

On most every computer I've got, the info is under
/sys/devices/platform/<some chip model>/hwmon/hwmon*/ and I can use cat
to grab the info.  I've looked everywhere and think it may be a AUXTIN*
but not sure exactly which one or even if it is one of those.  I may get
some software, stress-ng may be able to do this, and stress the GPU a
bit and see what temps rises.  Odds are, that is the right one, if it is
one of those.  At that point, I can dig in /sys and see if I can find a
file with the same value.

I find it odd that it is so difficult to figure out which file is what
temp.  One would think mobo makers would have a page somewhere that
shares that info so anyone and everyone can know for sure what they
have.  After all, even Windows shows temp and fan info.  At this point
tho, at least gkrellm shows the info.  It's a start.

By the way, I been booting and shutting down the new rig a LOT today.  I
added DM to the default run level. It has booted and had a normal screen
every single time.  Adding the DPI value to the xorg.conf file seems to
have fixed the large screen issue.  Micheal and I have been chatting off
list.  Neither of us remember having to set that even back in the old
CRT days.  No clue why it isn't being picked up by the GUI tools.  After
all, this is a very new monitor.  I may be getting last years model at
this price point but still, it should chat with the video card and Linux
very well.

My second monitor left the Memphis hub.  It's on the way to the local
delivery place now.  It should be here tomorrow.  The monitor stand
shows it is on the way.  I doubt it will make it here tomorrow but it
claims it will.  I'm thinking Tuesday tho.  The State hub is not that
quick and it has not even arrived at the State hub yet.  It was in New
Jersey this morning I think.  That's a ways off for a ground package.
Air could make it but I doubt ground will.  I hope they surprise me.  LOL
