I'm going to miss it, reminds me of the old days with the Kitchen Sink
applications for browser, email, NNTP, RSS, all under one roof.

Emacs is still around. ;-) Browser: EWW. Email: various options; i use mu4e. NNTP: Gnus. RSS: Elfeed.

i say this mostly tongue-in-cheek. Even though Emacs is core to my 'workflow' (such as it is), my primary browser is Firefox, within which i use Feedly for RSS, because EWW is certainly not sufficient for my own use-case. But still, yeah, i do feel there's something to be said for an application that not only supports having multiple types of functionality "under one roof", but which also allows end-users to extensively customise those functionalities for their own use-case, including linking those functionalities together in ways not necessarily anticipated by their authors.
