If you used the libstdc++-v3 from my ftp site it's version 3.3.6 not 3.3.4.
Even more when you install a binary package do install all the files not just
the library.
In this special case when portage (emerge) isn't working you can unpack the
binary
package from root (/) dir and all the files inside go to their correct places.
Later checked the content of this libstdc++-v3-3.3.6.tbz2 file, it has two file
and a symlink.
One is in "/etc/env.d/...." the other in: "usr/lib/..." (this by memory only).
After installing it you better reboot to add the path to libstdc++ to LDCONFIG
(/etc/env.d/99..).
