I hope Apple didn't do some magic to prevent installation of other OSes like Mac OS X.

Anyway, I guess I will give it a try.

I believe the idea was that you can do just that - dual boot with whatever you want for x86. The inverse - installing intel osx on a non-mac machine is not going to be possible (or at least probably not legal).
