Doing it as root gives me the same error message. gmplayer /dev/dvd works fine to play a DVD, so I think it's OK. Here is where it points: % ls -la /dev/dvd lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Mar 3 14:27 /dev/dvd -> hdd -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
