The handbook has a slight gramattical error in the description, but
the command given:
ln -s net.lo net.eth0
will create a symbolic link named net.eth0 pointing at net.lo.

The scripts are the same, but they use different parts of the config files.
BTW: disregard my previous post i hadn't seen the problem was fixed
(it's late here).
