Just tried that, and doesn't work. The modules are still loaded. I tried commenting out the line in /etc/udev/rules.d/50-udev.rules which looks like it might have something to do with autoloading. 'SYSFS{modlaias}=="?*", ACTION=="add", RUN+="/sbin/modprobe $env{MODALIAS}"' and it doesn't help either. Any other thoughts?
