I tend to prefer proftpd because you can lock specific users/ groups out and run it in a chrooted environment easily. BFD (brute force detection) works well for all services, is easy to set up and available at: http://www.r-fx.ca/downloads/bfd-current.tar.gz Also, if it is just him, and he happens to be on static or change i.p. addresses infrequently, you could just block it at the firewall: iptables -I INPUT -p tcp -s <his ip> --sport 21 -j ACCEPT iptables -I INPUT 2 -p tcp --dport 21 -j DROP Cheers, ~J oh yeah.. down with windows!
