You can use gdm. Just `emerge gdm`, set DISPLAYMANAGER="gdm" in /etc/rc.conf, make it start at boot with `rc-update add xdm default`, and then start it up and configure it with `/etc/init.d/xdm start`. In one of the configuration screens you can set it to automatically log a user in when it is first started. -tcort
