option 1. worked for me. The initial try downloaded portage-2.???-r4 and this error occured. The next try downloaded portage 2.???-r5 and I assume this fixed it becuase it completed the emerge successfully. Thanks for the help! Regards, Richard Broersma Jr. -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
