Thats what it was displaying so I did:
echo "8139too" >> /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6
and that fixed the problem. Thanks Neil for the LSMOD command

Did you build the correct module with your kernel? lsmod will show if
it's loaded. If you're not sure which one you need, run lsmod from the
live CD to see what that's using.
