Mick, Unless I'm mistaken, that module is ndiswrapper which was emerged again after the kernel was rebuilt. In case you're not familiar with it ndiswrapper wraps around a Windows driver that talks to the hardware. It's an interface between the Linux driver stack and the hardware running a Windows driver. There is no apparent native support for these wireless NICs in Linux unfortunately so I'm forced to use ndiswrapper which worked OK under gcc-3.4.6.
