[gentoo-user] Installation of openoffice in 4 hours or more?! :s

Hi,

 # date
 Tue Dec  5 10:12:01 BRT 2006
 # emerge openoffice
 { in other terminal }
 # date
 Tue Dec  5 15:24:01 BRT 2006

and portage continues to compile openoffice, it didn't finished yet.
Is it so slow or there are something wrong? My machine is a P4 (with
HyperThreading enabled), 512Mb.
