Hi folks, I run into this on occasion. I have tried several things but when it happens I can not sync for a couple days. Here is what I get as far as the error:

Most of the time this works. I think the problem is this, I have a really slow dial-up connection. I used to be on a cable connection and I never had this problem, not even once. It seems that it takes so long to download the data that the server gets tired of my slow connection and just cuts me off. Also note, that first server is one of the ones that works. I'm sort of confused as to why it failed this time. have any idea of how to fix this?? While I am at it, is there any way to override the default sync servers? There is a couple that never work and they are not in make.conf. I can't seem to get rid of them. It seems portage is overriding the list of servers I want it to use. Thanks in advance for the help. I'm sure there are a lot of Gentoo users out there that have sucky dial-up. :-\ I connect at 28.8K which gives me about 3 to 4KBs a sec. OOo takes about 24 hours.
