Hi I had that exact problem and removed nvidia-settings - it went away.

It certainly looks like nvidia-settings is trying to pull in the legacy package, probably because you have an older nvidia-drivers package. nvidia-settings needs either ">=nvidia-drivers-1.0.9625" or ">=x11-drivers/nvidia-legacy-drivers-1.0.7182". -- Neil Bothwick Why do we park in driveways and drive on parkways?
