OK, so it's not a permissions issue. What shows up in your syslog when you connect the scannner? If you use syslog-ng, run "tail -f /var/log/message" then connect the scanner. > PS: Sorry for the CCing, just to up the thread. Don't apologise, if you know it's wrong, don't do it.
