IIRC, last time there was a major update to glibc, it came along with the update to gcc 4.1, which did require rebuilding. I updated to glibc-2.5 without any problems; I ran revdep-rebuild afterwards just in case, but it found nothing needing rebuilding. I've compiled a few things since upgrading glibc, with no troubles. -- [email protected] mailing list
