Ok, it seems that coreutils used to create /usr/bin symlinks to things located in /bin...this is not true anymore after the recent coreutils-6.7-r1 update (or, it's true only for a small number of binaries, which do not include the ones I found). I had /usr/bin before /bin in my PATH, so that's why they got hashed that way. And I missed the "Make sure you run 'hash -r' in your active shells" message.
