Make sure of two things: 1. At /etc/conf.d/net, you add the "-d" to the line wpa_supplicant_wlan0="<whatever> -d" 2. That you start the net.wlan0 service as /etc/init.d/net.wlan0 --verbose start Optionally, you can also run tail -f /var/log/everything/current & prior to starting the service, for extra output.
