Comment 11 in bug #182248 [1] contains the best ebuild for skype at the moment. But you need to rebuild =x11-libs/qt-4* with the accessibility and dbus use flags enabled. See bug #179568 [2] for further reference. Older versions have been package.mask due to upstream licensing issues and the fact that upstream made them unavailable.
