Well if your using gmane, it seems to be a regular scheduled event to get hosed in the afternoon (EST) and sporadically miss messages. I'm not sure where the problem exist, but, I have not found another interface better than gmane, so I just ignore the issues as much as possible. Funding may be the largest culprit with gmane.
