Nope. Simply entering those command got things working. I copied pasted to show how the network started off unavailable then, after entering the dhcp command.
I think your original problem was that you were not running dhcpcd on the NIC connected to your router.
What does that mean? Or, what does the Fedora live cd do differently? The Asus WL-330g is what the NIC connects to, and dhcp is used and seems to work fine in other distros.
