When I remove "fglrx" from VIDEO_CARDS, the old gcc is not required by emerge anymore... weird

Hi Guys,

I am trying to install xorg-server on a thinkpad T42. The system has gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2 p1.0.1) already. But every time I want to emerge xorg-server, the emerge asks to install gcc-3.3.6. I don't understand why the xorg-server needs an old gcc while the new one is already available.

The USE flags used by xorg-server are

[ebuild N ] x11-base/xorg-server-1.2.0-r3 USE="dri nptl sdl xorg xprint -3dfx -debug -dmx -ipv6 -kdrive -minimal" INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse synaptics -acecad -aiptek -calcomp - citron -digitaledge -dmc -dynapro -elo2300 -elographics -evdev - fpit -hyperpen -jamstudio -joystick -magellan -microtouch -mutouch - palmax -penmount -spaceorb -summa -tek4957 -ur98 -vmmouse -void - wacom" VIDEO_CARDS="fglrx radeon vesa -apm -ark -chips -cirrus - cyrix -dummy -epson -fbdev -glint -i128 -i740 -i810 (-impact) - imstt -mach64 -mga -neomagic (-newport) -nsc -nv -nvidia -r128 - rendition -s3 -s3virge -savage -siliconmotion -sis -sisusb (- sunbw2) (-suncg14) (-suncg3) (-suncg6) (-sunffb) (-sunleo) (- suntcx) -tdfx -tga -trident -tseng -v4l -vga -via -vmware -voodoo" 0 kB

Thanks in advance!
