Maybe that would be because very few packages linked against libintl.so from gettext (which doesn't even exist in recent versions of gettext) whereas virtually everything links against libexpat. It's worth noting that expat-2 has been in testing for over a year now but it was only stabled in the last few days. Hence the expat breakage at the moment only affects users of stable (which finally makes it a *LOT* less painful to switch between stable and testing)... -- Bo Andresen
