Because they are not required by those programs. xorg-x11 has been split, so you probably have xorg-server and various library and utility packages installed. Firefox doesn't require an X server at all because it can be run remotely. The simplest option it to quickpkg the affected packages before allowing --depclean to remove them. If anything breaks, you can reinstall them in seconds. -- Neil Bothwick You have a tendency to feel you are superior to most computers.
