I'm going to revoke my own geek card. I obviously don't deserve to have 
one anymore.

The *really* sad thing is, that when went to that selection, I 
remembered that I had done all this before long ago ;-(

I'm not sure either how come, I copied over the ~/.kde from the old 
machine (3.5.7) to this new one, most things have stayed the same but 
not this setting. However, I did forget to copy over /usr/kde/3.5 - 
maybe it was some default there.

Anyway, no matter, it's fixed now. Thanks for the pointer!
