Wont work, the sun binaries have an internal licence viewer/acceptance mechanism which gentoo uses. For some reason the version I am trying to install doesnt work through gentoo, but 1.6 does. However, I cheated and manually installed it and configured the plugin - suns java test page tells me I have the right version so tomorrow I'll have another go at accessing the brain dead oracle forms stuff at work ...
