In a recent upgrade to my laptop EHCI supported was added to my kernel, I thought that this would be a good thing because I have a USB 2.0 external harddrive that I connect to my laptop for additional storage and media. I also use a Logitech Quickcam Deluxe for Notebooks which is a USB 1.1 device and since that upgrade I have had issues with the webcam being disconnected at random. After some research into the cause it appeared to be an issue with ehci support and usb 1.1 devices. My question is for my laptop, a dell inspiron e1405 with an intel ICH7 chipset is there a way to use both USB 2.0 support and USB 1.1 support in a way that wont cause conflicts of my computer. the output of lspci is displayed below. Right now my current workaround is to have all usb support built as modules and ensure that ehci does not get loaded. Thanks guys
