It would be great if us geoclue people could work on the Firefox support for Geoclue, and get the Master provider into shape for them. I'm really psyched about Geoclue in Firefox!
BTW - Geoclue is now in Debian! http://packages.debian.org/geoclue ~Craig ---------------------------- Original Message ---------------------------- Subject: Re: Firefox Geolocation From: "Doug Turner" <[email protected]> Date: Thu, April 2, 2009 5:16 pm To: "Craig Andrews" <[email protected]> -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Craig, I posted this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/details/11241 This will use WiFi. Please test it out and let me know how it works for you. It uses the same service that Google Gears uses. Firefox 3.5 will not ship with any default geolocation providers. We may update the Mozilla Lab's Geode project for Firefox 3.5. Yes, there are people intergrating Geoclue into Firefox. I am not sure when it will land (probably post 3.5). That work is happening here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485472 Regards, Doug On Apr 2, 2009, at 1:41 PM, Craig Andrews wrote: > I'm running Firefox 3.5 nightlies, and I can't seem to find any > geolocation providers.
