Folks,

I am looking to hire someone who can help install climate models on parallel
computing platforms (i.e., Dell clusters), and help us automate the
execution and analysis of climate model simulations. Many of these
simulations will relate to evaluating proposals to directly intervene in the
climate system. This position would be at the Carnegie Institution Dept of
Global Ecology on the Stanford University campus.

Experience with climate models in parallel environments, python, and cdat,
is preferred, but intelligence, motivation, ability to complete projects,
willingness to take direction, and willingness to work at academic salaries
are essential. (I would rather find someone good without the right
experience and let them learn than hire someone with the right experience
who fails to meet other criteria.) There will be opportunity to co-author or
author scientific papers if desired, but that desire is not a pre-requisite
for this position.

If you know of anyone who might be appropriate for this position, please
forward this email to them and ask them to contact me at
[email protected].

Thanks,

Ken

PS. This is not a formal announcement of a position vacancy because such an
announcement has not yet been approved by the Carnegie Institution, but one
can nevertheless assume that the Carnegie Institution abides by all relevant
laws and regulations including those relating to non-discrimination along a
variety of dimensions (race, sex, etc).
