Hi Angelia,
Did you receive invitation to join Indianice? I tried to enter directly, but
then I don't know how does it generate the links that you can easily open. So,
I re-sent as invitation.
I am geophysically arguing the case that the Amerindian recollections of the
ice age are historically valid recollections. The idea of the project is to
collect them, asses how the events probably unfolded the way the old
recollectoions say, and then experimentally test them out to make matter of
opinion and tradition to become fully proven fact and history.
You should have received a copy of which was sent today to Indianice and
Geoengineering. I used it as opportunity to argue, geophysically, once again,
the World Indigenous Nations' Summit plea to the United Nations' General
Assembly to investigate Amerindian histories of the ice age coming and going
and the global warming and climate change killing people.
That request was presented to the United Nations' General Assembly, "the House
of Mica", Honourable late Thomas Becenyala of the faith-keeper of the Hopi
Nation and the motion was seconded by Honourable Oren Lyons, the chief of the
Six Nations. The request for investigation and further meeting was never
followed by the United Nations, showing that there is a terrible element of
talk show how the UN General Assembly works. Much said on the floor, but
nothing is then followed up. 16 years have passed since Becenyala's warning.
There are certain elements of divine things, mysteries. However, I need to be
extremely careful and play down over-anticipations as there are army sceptics
that will try to attack.
I think the actions speaks for the word and I 100% think there are sufficient
evidence to substitute and fully validate the Amerindian ideas of the big
transitions around the ice age and that we are now impending to severe climatic
mayhem unseen since the ice age.
We need to get His Excellency President Evo Morales into this as well as
rallying the Amerindian nations for the cause because we are here trying to
prove their most ancient recollections to prove that in the overall these are
true recollections what went on before the white men arrived to America.
Every nation has contributed a piece of information to writing of world's
history. Isn't it amazing that if the Amerindian nations occupied 1/3 of the
world's entire land mass (the two Americas) that they have absolutely nothing
to contribute to the writing of the past of our planet?
I perceive there is a social exclusion of the Amerindian people's from the
world affairs that amounts to the ongoing cultural genocide. When the UN did
not follow up, even attempt to, the World Indigenous Nation's Summit's
recommendations and the closing plenary request I think this resulted from the
"cultural illiteracy" by the UN General Assembly and that the UN should employ
experts on different cultures to give it advice so that requests are acted on.
I also feel that there is an element of "spoon-feeding" what is important in
the Amerindian history. Have you ever noted how the Amerindian UNESCO World
Heritage Sites are allocated? The white expert archeologists' from the
universities drew a shortlist of interesting-looking real Amerindian estates
(properties), i.e. in Arizona. The focus is 100% on the real estate
architechture, without any consideration that most Amerindian people were
either hunters or nomadic people than urbanised culture with the corn
agriculture.
UNESCO is only interested in white men's values: the real estates and who sowed
the seed first to grow corn. Sarcastically, one could think that the only
contribution and significant invention of the Amerindian nations were corn
agriculture that led to Kelloggs' Corn Flakes! Thus the focus in always on
inclusion of the Amerindian ruins, the real estates, like white man are today.
(Note that in Finland and Russia we still have nomadic herders in economy.)
A good example of absolutely terrifying omission and bias is with the Menominee
tribe. They lived around the McKenzie Island (I need to check from files exact
names not to mix up). This island is just under the gravel mound which
collapsed when the Lake Agazzis collapsed into St. Lawrence. The Lake Agazzis
was formed at the end of the ice age when the thin snow fields melted and
formed a huge ocean like melt water lake in front of the Laurentide Ice Sheet.
Most of the Menominee tribe villages were washed out by this immense freezing
water, but some were running uphill on McKenzie Island's hill and other nearby
hills when the continental sea of meltwater bursted. Some people climbed onto
the trees as the water was running deep everywhere, much alike during the
tsunami in the Indian Ocean when people climbed to the trees and telegraph
poles to avoid being swept by the current.
I have complained to the UNESCO that why the Younger Dryas' Point (YDP) is not
included as UNESCO World Heritage Site because when this huge glacial lake
bursted its banks into St. Lawrence, its impact was global, not a local one.
The cold meltwater cooled the climate and reduced the sea salinity, even Europe
was turned back into tundra-like cold conditions. The Menominee say that this
drainage of the huge lake created the Great Lakes region as we know from ever
since. So, why on earth this mountain where Menominee ran for safety for their
lives, when the earth-shaking collapse of the Lake Agazzis occurred is not
UNESCO World Heritage Site. Only because the site does not have expensive
Amerindian real estate!
Poor Menominee tribes, never mind, they withnessed the biggest event to change
the world history for perhaps millennia and created the Great Lakes as the
excess water disappeared, the Younger Dryas Point is of no importance for the
world as there are no golden treasures or expensive real estate, temples, built
onto this site that changed the world, only memory.
The National Hopi Convention of 1945 (or 1947?) was a brilliant effort to bring
all the Hopi experts to put together their faith, traditions and recollections
of the past. This may have been spurred in the immediate aftermath of the
Second World War when many people died and the Hopi nation's elders became
worried that the knowledge of the past what their nation knew about the
American continent was precious and to be preserved for the posterity. As per
the national Hopi convention, the 75 leading Hopi academia selected 4 elders to
become the faith-keepers of the nation whose last surviving original keeper was
Honourable faith-keeper Thomas Becenyala who presented the key national
tradition to UN.
I think Becenyala was a brilliant academic in the Hopi way of knowing things
and organising as the culture of the nation put it and it is therefore
disgraceful that the UN has not acted. 16 years have passed and we could have
had much climatic action implemented if he had been given a fair hearing at the
time and the UN had promptly and fairly followed his speech on 10th Decemeber
1992 to close the World Indigenous Nations' Summit raising the concern of the
ice age being much more sudden and violent event than the West thinks.
If you can expediate to rectify this terrible omission and put the matters
right for the Amerindian nations. Had we started to look at sudden sea level
surges back in 1992, we might have been able to avoid the melt down of the sea
ice of the Arctic Ocean and the North Pole's floating sea ice cap. At this
point, such success is far from being guaranteed. And if the other Amerindian
recollection of the all land marks covering snow cap suddenly sliding into the
sea is anywhere right, then we are not in good expectation what shall happen to
Greenland in the post-sea ice Arctic.
As I have seen the idea of the film project, I would follow the structure
broadly what Honourable Thomas Becenyala roughly suggested to United Nations
General Assembly:
1) Part 1: First to collect and then animate the stories for the documentary.
2) Part 2: Seek geophysical explanations how these may have happened in the past
- check out for the short-life cosmogenic radioisotope under
Greenland ice
- check out for the speed how the Sunken Cities became 'Pompeii
in Water'
- check ouf for the instability of coastal rocks at Melville Bay
area.
- other experiments not disclosed until we are ready so others
don't steal ideas
3) Part 3: Venture out to expeditoions to prove or dismiss the hypotheses above
4) Part 4: Make forecast what will happen to Greenland ice and when if case
proven
5) Part 5: Propose preparations for sudden sea surges
- try geoengineering solutions to halt the ongoing destrution of
North Pole ice
- store food articles, medicines and fuel on elevated grouds -
out of water reach
- draft national re-housing plan to resettle the displaced people
orderly
- re-inforce international co-operation to overcome coastal
flooding disruption
- protect by sea wall dangerous chemical, waste and nuclear
facilities
- protect national libraries, galleries & archives to keep them
from water's reach
- in the UK to keep the Channel Tunnel entrances dry (when ports
are flooded)
- secure fuel supplies for agriculture, food distribution and
emergency services
- 10% overproduction for national food storage / 10% for
international storage
- continue climate change: continue to move economy to renewable
power
- continue climate change: continue to move economy to
sustainable transport
- create artificial coastal habitats that sea surges cannot
destroy, biodiversity
I can't see anything better Honourable Thomas Becenyala and Honourable Oren
Lyons would have wanted United Nations' Genereral Assembly to do about their
ice age history.
If you can deliver these things, then I think we are all better off to face our
common future
(on a more knowlegeable basis of the past as well, of course).
Yours sincerely,
Veli Albert Kallio, FRGS
