Hi Ray,
I think huge majority of geongineering people feel that you are making too strong allegations about fossil fuel industries manipulating geoengineering to delay action. If they were behind us seriously, we would be quite busy doing things already. Please note that even space mirrors do not solve the problem of ocean acidification we all are aware. I suggest that you amend and moderate the tone of your otherwise well written article so that the insulting and conspiracy elements are taken out of. If one sheep plays game, do not blame whole body of people looking at geoengineering solutions. It is not too dissimilar to hear this I am a member of Environmentalists for Nuclear Energy (EFN) but also investing in renewable energy projects and even been with climate campers. Greenpeace is furious against nuclear energy while EFN encourages it, both for environmental reasons. I posted recently a clear article from Energy & Capital showing the pros and cons. As much as I would like all new energy to be renewable, the problem is the capacity of industries to supply wind turbines for all, the waiting time for some models is already 2016 and books closed for further orders (i.e. Energon 6MW turbines). So it is not unwise for the time being to use available capacity of nuclear generator manufacturers to provide additional CO2 free (or almost free) electricity or heating. So do not unnecessarily antagonise, true, there is competition for same tax etc monies for renewable energy, climate change studies, carbon sequestration, insulation, mitigation, adaptation, public transport and geoengineering that are all tapping into climate change funds to make the situation more manageable. But there is no major pro-CO2 conspiracies.
