Ms Vaughn,

Thank you for your insightful lecture at Friends of the Earth. I was
particularly interested by your comments regarding the inevitable
collapse of Greenland's ice sheet, due to its bistable state resulting
from its high-altitude surface. May I ask, has any specific research
been done on whether sulfur or other geoengineering may be able to
stop this sheet collapsing once it has started, or may even be able to
reverse such a collapse?

Further, I note your point on the reversibility of Arctic sea-ice
loss. I remain concerned that the cooling from sulfur aerosols will
be inadequate to overcome the ice-albedo feedback effect - as open
ocean has a very low albedo. Do you have any data to back up your
apparent faith in reversibility?
