Folks, There is at least a rumor that there a meeting on Solar Radiation Management governance issues on 10 and 11 Nov 2010 following the already advertised Royal Society meeting focused on science issues (8 and 9 Nov 2010).
The rumor is that this meeting is being jointly organized by several different scientific and professional societies with international representation. I am not clear on exactly which organizations are involved or exactly what the scope of the meeting will be. Those who have interest in Solar Radiation Management governance issues might want to block off 10 and 11 Nov 2010 on their calendars, pending a formal announcement. Some of the scientists going to the Royal Society geoengineering science on 8 and 9 Nov meeting might want to stay on for the governance meeting to help provide some scientific context. Best, Ken PS The science meeting has already been announced. http://rsbl.royalsociety.org/Geoengineering-taking-control-of-our-planets-climate/ ___________________________________________________ Ken Caldeira Carnegie Institution Dept of Global Ecology 260 Panama Street, Stanford, CA 94305 USA [email protected] http://dge.stanford.edu/DGE/CIWDGE/labs/caldeiralab +1 650 704 7212; fax: +1 650 462 5968 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "geoengineering" group.
