If we use marine cloud brightening to keep the sea surface temperatures
where they are now, or where they used to be in happier days, we would
have a better chance of keeping the currents closer to where we want
them than suffering unbridled changes.
Vehicles with good steering and intelligent drivers have fewer accidents.

The thermohaline circulation is driven by cold water sinking at the
poles. If that process is impeded by the cooling of water at the
tropics under clouded skies, this overturning may slow or stop.
If the flow stops, we could end up with anoxic oceans and a potential
hydrogen sulphide contaminated atmosphere.
Even if it is merely modified, we could end up with the equivalent of
DO events.
