You mean 2011 AGU? Speaking of videos, I believe that Jim Hansen has provided the most succinct and compelling statement yet on CO2 and climate change (no disrespect to Al Gore):
http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/james_hansen_why_i_must_speak_out_about_climate_change.html Now if he would just give equal time to ocean acidification we might have something that few people could "deny" and would shame governments to action. However, in keeping with my belief that scientists make poor salespersons, this message must now be crafted and packaged by professional media and communicated to the masses 24/7, say on the level of the ongoing GOP campaigns. That obviously can't happen without money. Perhaps someone on this list might want to make a call to Bill Gates... Jim also needs to lose the hat, but what do I know about what sells? -Greg --- On Thu, 3/8/12, Ken Caldeira <[email protected]> wrote: From: Ken Caldeira <[email protected]> Subject: [geo] Dec 2012 AGU Fall Meeting geoengineering session available as online video To: "geoengineering" <[email protected]> Date: Thursday, March 8, 2012, 7:02 AM This may have been posted before, but I hadn't seen this until now: http://vimeo.com/33389557 The vimeo video was linked to from this page: http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2011/scientific-program/sessions-on-demand-8-december/ Also, I haven't listened to what I said yet, but there is some additional interview material about my talk available here as a series of audio clips: http://environmentalresearchweb.org/cws/article/opinion/48880 _______________ Ken Caldeira Carnegie Institution Dept of Global Ecology 260 Panama Street, Stanford, CA 94305 USA +1 650 704 7212 [email protected] http://dge.stanford.edu/labs/caldeiralab @kencaldeira YouTube: Climate change and the transition from coal to low-carbon electricity Crop yields in a geoengineered climate -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "geoengineering" group.
