Final Symposium

The Final Symposium in September 2012 comes at an important juncture: It
concludes three years of research at Heidelberg University and at the same
time marks the beginning of a 6-year research program on the assessment of
Climate Engineering funded by the German Science Foundation – DFG. Over the
course of one-and-a-half days, it provides an opportunity to review the
current state of the art and to discuss the road ahead. During the
Symposium, there will be a chance to review and discuss the project
outputs, but also to hear about the current thinking of leading experts on
global governance and science policy regarding the pressing research needs.
In addition, a dedicated session will allow to interact with policy-makers
to understand where science can make a difference by helping policy-makers
make informed decisions about climate engineering possibilities, at home or
internationally.
