True. But there has been much discussion about how to 'frame'
geoengineering research in positive way; you can look at this piece as pure
framing, divorced from specifics. The frame is not that of a victim (
'vested interests are trying to protect themselves at our expense') but of
an active participant ('get on with it!'). And what do geoengineering
researchers need from the public more than a general directive to get on
with it? Discussing specifics is probably one of those habits that prevents
scientists from framing effectively for the public anyhow. At least in this
narrow sense, sloppy is good.
