OK, so at 0.05 GT CO2/volcano and a social cost of carbon of say $40/tonne CO2 http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/inforeg/social_cost_of_carbon_for_ria_2013_update.pdf means an impact of $2B/volcano times # new volcanos/yr times yrs of new eruptions, minus the temporary $ benefits of SO2 cooling = ?? Or let's spend lots of R&D money on how to do CCS on artificially erupted volcanos? I'm sure the CCS industry would welcome a new, paying customer. Plus it would appear important to carefully select which volcanoes to erupt: http://geosphere.geoscienceworld.org/content/9/1/21.abstract
