Without further ado, a few highlights on our progress here at the Center
for Carbon Removal:
*Our big news: *Earlier this week, we officially announced our seed funding
from the Berkeley Energy & Climate Institute!

this new funding, we have started making progress on a number of fronts,

- Curating a comprehensive online hub

high-quality information and discussion about carbon removal. We have

- Last week, the Center hosted its first event: an accredited session at
the pre-COP21 “Our Common Future Under Climate Change” conference

Paris on carbon removal research needs and coordination. We’ll post
highlights from this event shortly, and we hope to convene many more events
like this in the future to discuss a wide range of topics related to carbon
removal.
- The Center has already gotten some great press coverage – check out
the “Press” section below for links to news stories about carbon removal
that highlight the work we are doing here at the Center.

*What climate scientists talk about when they talk about
carbon removal* - Last week, around 2,000 climate experts gathered at
the Our Common Future Under Climate Change Conference hosted by a
consortium of NGOs in advance of the upcoming UN COP21 climate
negotiations. The idea of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to
create “negative emissions” was a hot topic of conversation at the
