List:
I recommend a video of former Senator Tim Wirth, speaking mostly about
the Paris COP21. The video was produced yesterday at
                http://livestream.com/blueheronfilms/areday2015
This is a long video, with Tim on only from about 1:30 to 29:00.
This was near the beginning of an annual quite amazing event called
AREDay - with a lot more to come. I’ve attended several times as a volunteer -
not this year. Tim retired last year as head of the Ted Turner funded UN
Foundation. Tim was my Senator, so I’ve heard him many times; I believe he has
done as much on climate issues as any US politician. Still doing so - as can
be seen in this video. Highlights:
@14:00 giving major credit to John Podesta re agreement on China and US -
pledges (big sign); Brazil, So Korea (tripled)
@18:00 background on Pope Francis ; credit given to new “Momentum”
@22:00 Says now two big issues Q1 - What next? (TW says negotiation is all
done; talks about Financing, Conservative Republicans, Carbon Tax)
@24:00 2nd biggest: How to handle ocean acidification (a CDR message here.)
Two audience questions: First got Tim excited about the word
“messaging” - which he will now work harder on. Second on the word “tax” -
which he isn’t worried about.
I doubt you can find a more optimistic view of COP21 than in this
video. I haven’t read any such.
The next speaker (at 29:00) is perhaps the #1 Solar entrepreneur in the
world (Huang Ming of HIMIN Solar). I have not yet finished the tape. Not sure
who else is speaking - probably Jimmy Carter, maybe Ted Turner. I’ll try to
report.
