My name is Joon-hyung Park from APCO Worldwide and I work with the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science as a strategic communications and stakeholder engagement partner. I am writing to you to draw your attention to an important milestone that the Program is celebrating during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. We are inviting researchers from around the world to Abu Dhabi to celebrate the winners of US$5 million grant from this international scientific initiative led by UAE. For this, we would like very much to receive your help in spreading the word about the Program and the event through Pace University and/or New York Times. *About UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP):* The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science is a global research program launched by the UAE’s Ministry of the Presidential Affairs and managed by the UAE’s National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS). Every year, the program offers a total of US$ 5 million grant to be shared among up to 5 winning proposals. The grant covers a period of 3 years of research for the winning proposals. The program aims to encourage scientific research in areas that will enhance rain fall in arid and semi-arid regions around the world. Since inauguration, the Program attracted 78 preproposals representing 325 collaborating scientists from 34 countries. The results were truly global in context and geographical spread. The Program has kick-started renewed scientific enquiry in the field of rain enhancement at a global scale. On 19 January, 2016, the Program will be announcing the awardees of the first cycle of the Program who will share the US$5 million grant during the award ceremony in Abu Dhabi. We are preparing to distribute a press release announcing the winners with the details of their cutting-edge research proposals, and the winning teams will be available for interview opportunities after the announcement. In addition, upon honoring the winners, we will be opening the registration for the 2016 cycle at our website at http://www.uaerep.ae, and we hope to continue the great success of the first cycle into the future, and our story appearing on your publication will help greatly to this regards. If you would be interested in covering the award ceremony and the winners of the Program, please contact me to take this conversation forward.
