Climate Engineering Conference 2017: Critical Global Discussions*Call for
submissions: Deadline June 30, 2017*

Building on the success of the first large, international and
transdisciplinary conference on climate engineering in 2014 (Climate
Engineering Conference 2014—CEC14), the Institute for Advanced
Sustainability Studies (IASS) is aiming to once again bring together the
research, policy and civic communities for critical global discussions on
climate engineering.*The Climate Engineering Conference 2017 (CEC17)* will
be held at the Umweltforum
<https://besondere-orte.com/en/locations/umweltforum> in Berlin, Germany,
from *October 9 – 12, 2017*. It will address approaches for both Carbon
Dioxide Removal (CDR) and Solar Radiation Management (SRM, also known as
Albedo Modification), situating them within broader discussions of climate
change and, in particular, mitigation and adaptation.

The conference will convene discussions of the vast and diverse array of
questions that climate engineering raises for disciplinary research,
interdisciplinary collaboration, and transdisciplinary engagement.

The conference organizers would like to *invite abstract submissions *from
those interested in presenting their work at the conference. The deadline
for abstract submissions is *June 30, 2017*.

Abstracts should address one of the* topics of the sessions that are
accepting abstract submissions *(see PDF below), and should include an
indication as to which session(s) they are being submitted to. Abstracts
should not exceed *200 words *in length.

If your abstract is selected, you will be invited to either present a short
paper at a session, or to contribute to the conference in the form of a
poster. If you wish to directly elect for a poster, please indicate this in
your submission. Posters will be on display for the duration of the
conference and there will be a timetabled slot for a dedicated poster
session, during which presenters are asked to be available by their posters
to discuss their research.

To submit an abstract, please follow this link

Please note that there will be a nominal conference fee of €150 for
