prepare budgets, financial analysis, and other financial documents; and inform strategic decisions about spending. - Support efforts to fundraise for the program. - Advance efforts where possible to inform U.S. public policy makers of solar geoengineering research and the possible ways in which federal funds could support research; responsibilities include shaping and implementing an internal public policy strategy; collaborating with experienced advisors and advocacy organizations to gain advice, share insights, and build partnerships; participating in meetings with elected officials, staffers, advocacy organizations, and advisors; authoring written materials; and managing ongoing relationships and outreach. - Advance the program's communications work, which includes informing the overall strategy; writing and editing publications, including op-eds, blog posts, program materials and handouts, and other written materials; and managing the development of the website and maintaining it after its launch. - Contribute to the strategy development of various events hosted by the program, small and large, the latter of which requires work regarding program strategy and content, speakers, press, written materials, and other topics. - Facilitate research projects when needed, including reviewing and editing content; participating in research discussions; and supporting a variety of other tasks. *The Keith Group:* - Work with the Keith Group to develop and implement processes that improve group management. - Guide the financial strategy for the group, which includes working with David Keith and the Finance team to update and maintain accounts; preparing budgets, financial analysis, other financial documents; and inform strategic decisions about spending. - Support communication strategy, which includes informing the overall strategy; writing and editing publications; managing the development of and maintaining the website. - Facilitate research projects when needed. *The Stratospheric Controlled Perturbation Experiment (SCoPEx):* - Develop and inform the overall governance strategy for SCoPEx, which includes reaching out to a range of experts in the field of law, public policy, science, and environmental advocacy to solicit input and advice; shaping the overall governance strategy for SCoPEx; supporting the strategic development and implementation of the search committee and advisory committee for SCoPEx; working with the search committee and advisory committee to execute the governance strategy for SCoPEx; participating in and giving presentations at governance events; authoring written materials; and managing ongoing relationships and outreach. - Guide the financial strategy for SCoPEx, which includes working with SCoPEx leadership and the Finance team to update and maintain accounts; preparing budgets, financial analysis, other financial documents; and informing strategic decisions. - Support communication strategy, which includes informing the overall strategy; writing and editing publications including op-eds, blog posts, and other written materials; Salary Grade: 057 Union: 00 - Non Union, Exempt or Temporary Advanced degree required At least 6 years of work experience required - Advanced degree in Public Administration or Public Policy preferred - Strong understanding of solar geoengineering and/or experience working in a field of solar geoengineering. - Ability to launch and oversee a new research program. - Project management experience required. - Strong verbal and written communication skills required. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment required. - Experience in launching a new organization and working in U.S. public policy is preferred.
