Hi all,

There are three opportunities to do a PhD with me at the London NERC
Doctoral Training Program. If you're interested in the climate response to
solar geoengineering or how rocket plumes will change the stratosphere
check them out below and get in contact with me at [email protected] to
find out more. Please feel free to forward on to anyone who might be
interested.

1) "The aridity, drought and biodiversity impacts of Solar Geoengineering"
<https://london-nerc-dtp.org/2019/09/25/the-aridity-drought-and-biodiversity-impacts-of-solar-geoengineering/>

- Solar geoengineering would cool the climate but leave the hydrological
cycle changed. In this project you will use Earth system models to
understand the impacts of this change
2) "Using machine learning to predict the response to solar geoengineering"
<https://london-nerc-dtp.org/2020/07/27/using-machine-learning-to-predict-the-response-to-solar-geoengineering/>
 -
F-X Briol lead supervises this project which aims to use insights from
machine learning to improve our understanding of the climate response to
solar geoengineering.
3) "Are Rockets the Next Air Pollution Frontier?"
<https://london-nerc-dtp.org/2020/09/10/are-rockets-the-next-air-pollution-frontier/>

The skies look set to be a-buzz with rockets, super-sonic and hyper-sonic
jets in the coming decades, in this project led by Dr. Eloise Marais you
would study their impact on stratospheric chemistry.

Cheers,

Pete
